Kinhasa 2.0.: First and second Life

An Internet campaign helped in the release of jailed presidential candidate to talk openly about the lack of democracy. Moving from a militarized Kinshasa and Second Life (a virtual chat program 3D), the subversive power of the Internet to democracy is explored through the portrait of the restlessness of an African capital.

Teboho Edkins presents a story from the Congo that mixes reality with the "second life" (Second Life), making both a total reality (fiction + virtual reality). A very strong and interesting bet this crucible of techniques that the author presents us, experimenting with a revolutionary technology such as Second Life, to give a very peculiar complexion to the story.
