Animacam 4th Edition 2011, will start September 12 of 2011

Cooperation Agreement Animacam-Festival Eurocine 2011, Colombia

Dear friends, we are pleased to inform you that the 4th Edition of Animacam 2011, finally, will start September 12 of  2011, with novelties and surprises in wich we are now working, hoping that all will pleased you .

Until then, we are bringing you a scoop: the Cooperation Agreement, recently created between The Cultural Section of the Spanish Embassy in Colombia and Animacam for he Exhibition and Promotion in Latin America of the European Animation Short films participants in Animacam 2nd and 3rd Editions. The shorts, coming from the Short film Category Official Section of Animacam 2009-2010, will be exhibit in Eurocine 2011 that will take place in Bogotá from April the 27 to May the 8th of 2011.

PRESENTATION OF EUROCINE BY THE SPANISH EMBASSY

The proposal of Eurocine http://www.festivaleurocine.com/2010/ is to diversify the Colombian filmic scene, opening spaces to the best European Cinema, poorly represented on the traditional screens. This edition emphasizes on Animation, where European creators have traditionally stood out.

The Cultural Section of the Spanish Embassy in Colombia

is pleased to invite the European Animacam Participants in the Category of Short film in the 2009/2010 Editions, to screen their shorts at the Exhibition Section of the Festival Eurocine 2011, that will take place in Bogotá from 27 of April to 8 of May 2011.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

The Consultant Committee of Eurocine in the Spanish Embassy will choose the final selection according to representative and quality criteria between the candidates presented by ANIMACAM.

ANIMACAM will not receive any economic remuneration for the organization and management of this event: it is a courtesy collaboration with Eurocine 2011 to promote in Latin America the European Animation cinema which had participated in ANIMACAM 2009 and 2010.

Fernando Trueba comes stomping in the world of animation with "Chico and Rita"

Dedicated to Cuban musician Bebo Valdes, this animated feature took the Best Film Award at the International Animation Festival in Holland.

Directed by Trueba and Javier Mariscal hand, won the Award for Best Film at the International Animation Festival Holland (HAFF) by unanimous decision of the jury.

Through this FIML viewers will be moved to "a vivid and vibrant time in the history of jazz".

"It's a classic love story that unites different continents and time points, using music to weave a web of memories and nostalgia to create a beautiful and sad story," said the jury.

"Chico & Rita" tells the love story between a pianist and a singer, for whom life is coming together and apart, like a bolero. Moreover, it is also the story of New York and Havana between 40 and 50.

The soundtrack of this co-production between Spain and the UK is run by Bebo Valdes, who was assisted by Estrella Morente and an impressive list of Cuban and American musicians. Its release is scheduled for November 19 in the UK and Ireland.

Jeff Treves performed Karinka Element music video - the Ant Karinka

Jeff Treves is a great artist in the animation and illustration. A graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design in 2004, worked in New York for different studies for 4 years and continued his career in Istanbul since 2008.

He loves all kinds of animation and filmmaking in general. Particularly those in which the characters' stories are powerful. Discovered what he really wanted to do for work, defined as the fact that half the job. The remainder of this paper is only for research and training.Says he took about 22 years know what he wanted to do with the cartoon characters. And he reiterate that it is never late to learn what you really want to learn, saying the talent is nothing compared to the determination.


Today is the head of Treves studies in Istanbul, and here present his work. Enjoy.

Radio Galega brings together the winners of Animacam third edition

On Saturday 30 October, the program "Nos quen" of Radio Galega brought together the winners of the  Third Edition of Animacam, who, along with festival director Xosé Luis Carneiro, shared a nice "little while" on the airwaves. In the interview shared his passion for the world of animation, deep into its initial stages of development of this art.

Josué Jaramillo from Colombia, Inma Carpe from Denmark and Eduardo Alés from Almeria, we discussed the present and future projects without forgetting thanks to Animacam. Well, then, from Animacam can only answer that gratitude is ours to them and to all of you who make possible that the world grows a little more each day.

It is also notorious the importance of two new spaces in Animacam this year:
1º Women Animating, a Blog dedicated at women in the animation industry, witch increased the female participation in more than 50 films at the Festival.
2º Cartoons Made by Children.
 For the first time in a Festival like this, we got animation in several techniques competing in the Official Section and coming from places such Egypt, England and Spain.
